A BAKING enthusiast who set up a new business has scooped two awards.
Abby Calloway is running Abby’s Truly Scrumptious Cakes from her home in Dorchester.
Her fledgling business won a first in celebration cake and a second in novelty cake making at the Dorset County Show.
She also won the overall challenge sugarpaste trophy.
Abby said: “I have always been into baking, from my family’s side it’s my mum and nan who have always been good cooks.
“Everyone said to me that I should go into cake making.
“I set up a Facebook site and had lots of people wanting cakes from me.”
Orders for Abby’s services have come flooding in, including making a special toadstool cake for Munchkins Play Cafe in Dorchester.
She said: “I suffer from dyslexia and always got told I wouldn’t go far in life.
“For me running my own business is a challenge, I’m not good with numbers and to overcome all that is a massive achievement.”
