TALENTED Dorset school bands and pupils are invited to apply for a national competition with the chance to perform alongside major artists.
Education charity the Transformation Trust has launched a national competition called Act 10, where the winning act will perform in front of 10,000 people at the trust’s annual pop concert, Rock Assembly, in July 2014.
Schools have been invited to take part in the competition, to be judged by industry insiders including BBC Radio 1 DJ Nihal Arthanayake.
As well as submitting a YouTube clip, artists will be asked to submit an application showing how they have adopted a team approach, covering branding, engaging their fan base, styling and any financial support.
The Act 10 competition is launched as part of the new Transformation Hub, a portal where state schools with high levels of free school meals can access a wide range of free extra-curricular opportunities.
