POLICE are hunting a thief who stole a handbag from a supermarket trolley.

The offender stole a handbag which was hanging on a trolley in Morrisons in Weymouth between 10.30am and 11.15am on Thursday, November 14. The handbag contained cash, phone and a set of keys.

A police spokesman said: “This is the second theft we have had of this kind in a supermarket in the past five days. The other was a theft of purse from handbag in Asda Stores, Weymouth on Monday November 11 at around 1.15pm “This is a reminder to all shoppers to keep handbags, purses and wallets close to them when in supermarkets and not to leave handbags unattended in or on trolleys. Keep your bag tucked under your arm with it fastened and keep wallets and purses in your front pockets.”
