Molly Scott Cato, the lead Green Party candidate in the South West for next year's European election will be visiting Weymouth to launch the party's campaign in Dorset.
Ms Scott Cato, an international expert on green economics and a professor at the University of Roehampton's Business School, visited the town earlier in the year to give a talk about the banking crisis.
She will be in Weymouth from 2.30pm - 4.30pm this Saturday with the Green Party's first peer, Jenny Jones, to hear about any concerns residents may have on issues relating to the European Parliament.
They will be joined by members of West and South Dorset Green Party and hope to meet as many residents as possible. Professor Scott Cato said: “In the last European elections the Green Party was just 12,000 votes short of winning a seat in the South West and I could realistically be representing this area after the 2014 election.
“If this is the case, I am keen to understand the issues affecting people in our coastal resorts such as Weymouth. This is a lovely town but faces many challenges, some of which are directly influenced by European Directives and laws”.
