A MAN who had become lost on a walk from Weymouth yesterday evening sparked alert for coastguards.
At 8.36pm yesterday Wyke Coastguard Rescue Officers were diverted from their training exercise to search for a 20-year-old man who had called 999 for help.
The man had walked from Bincleaves near Weymouth towards Sandsfoot Castle and had become disorientated and lost.
The police helicopter, that was also training, located the man and coastguards then proceeded to his position before helping him back to his home.
