THREE people have been taken to hospital following a crash involving four vehicles on the A35 in west Dorset.

The collision between Morcombelake and Charmouth blocked the road and caused long tailbacks. The road is now clear.

It was reported to Dorset Police by the ambulance service at 2.55pm.

The vehicles involved were a Ford Fiesta, a Mazda motor caravan, a Vauxhall Vectra and a Skoda Yeti.

Police said it is not believed to be a serious injury accident.

South Western Ambulance sent five emergency vehicles to the scene.

A spokesman said a woman had been taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for treatment. Two others were taken to Dorset County Hospital.
