A MAN bit a suspected love rival in an attack on Weymouth seafront, a jury heard.
Gary Jones, of Bayard Road, Weymouth is on trial at Dorchester Crown Court accused of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
It is alleged that he attacked Jonathan Storey on The Esplanade in the early hours of December 23, 2012 because he suspected the alleged victim of dating his former partner.
Jones, 43, ‘threatened to kill’ Mr Storey and knocked him to the ground before biting his thumb, the court heard.
When Mr Storey got off the floor and attempted to call the police, Jones attacked him again, he said. Mr Storey’s injuries required a stay in hospital and an operation, the court heard. Mr Storey added: “It was obvious by what he was saying that he was very, very aggressive and it was obvious that he wanted to get physical.”
Mr Storey said Jones ‘had a wild look’ and left him feeling like he’d been ‘kicked by a horse.’ Jones denies the offence.
The trial continues.
