REGULAR correspondent John Way has been in touch with a stash of old football photographs, three of which we’re reprinting here.

The first is of the team from Portland Secondary School and the players are, back from left, Glenn Taylor, Billy Arnott, Michael Munroe, Stephen Way, Dave Tremlin, David Smith and Graham Kirton.

In the middle, from left, are Peter Hayman, Rich Burley, Bob Long, Joseph Locke and Dave Gallagher, while at the front are Jeff Daniels and Paul Durkin.

Can anyone say what year the photo was taken?

The footballers with the striking orange strip were from the Islanders Boys’ Club. They included Dave Golding, Robin Stone, unknown, Paul Griffiths, Ross McGrandel, Martin Luke, Andrew Cliff, Paul Bishop, Pete Turrell, Glenn Taylor, unknown and Harry Mills.

Standing in the front are Tony way, Paul Durkin, Nick Mitchell, Phil Turrell and Lee White.

Can anyone fill in the gaps for us and John?

The third photo is of Portland Sea Cadets and was possibly taken in 1968.

Here the young players are, back from left, Dave Golding, Paul Alington, Michael Crowther, Stephen Way, Dave Golding Jnr, Bryn James, Graham Crowther, Graham Smith and Mr Crowther. In the front row are John Stone, Billy Higley, Pat Reader, Mick Lamming, Bob Long and Phil Osbourne.

A lot of the names come up time and again – if any of our readers are in the pictures, please get in touch.
