A DORSET mum whose young son has diabetes has backed a campaign that aims to improve care in schools for children with the condition.
People can help by taking part in a government consultation, which has been launched following the publication of draft guidance into what all schools will be expected to do from September 2014 to support children with medical conditions such as asthma, epilepsy and Type 1 diabetes.
Sarah Harvey of Corfe Castle, whose son Ryan, five, has Type 1 diabetes, backed the campaign.
She said her family has been lucky to have a ‘supportive’ school.
Details about the consultation, including Diabetes UK’s view, is available at diabetes.org.uk/make-the-grade
