WHAT DO YOU THINK? HAVE YOUR SAY ONLINE

This is my fourth letter to be published in this paper with no response from the council or other responsible bodies for the West Stafford bypass.

Another week has gone by without the use of the road and I would think that at least someone should have the courtesy to reply.

Remedial work has to be carried out, that much is obvious, and needs doing properly, so I guess the next cry will be that we have no money to invest into the infrastructure, but we have money to help in the Charles Street scheme for contractors.

Hey, people: When would you suggest the work be carried out (a) when the road is closed and safe to work on or (b) when it’s summer as last year and again hold up all the traffic.

“We have no money,” I hear.

Well, you are already paying the staff, the road is closed and if you really don’t have the money, negotiate delivery of goods now and payment in the next financial year.

I’m sure interested parties would be more than happy to help at this time of year as it affects them too.

As far as I am concerned, and others that have spoken to me, is that there should be a large drain to the river down the bottom of the hill or at least raise the level of the road professionally so that the water runs away downhill, and get that trench filled in before a motorcyclist dies.
