A HEALTH group is in the running for a prestigious national award.
NHS Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has been shortlisted for a national NHS England Excellence in Participation Award.
The nomination recognises the work carried out seeking feedback from families to inform the provision of maternity services within Dorset.
The maternity commissioning team introduced a mixture of innovative and accessible ways for people to get involved.
These included a Facebook page accessed by more than 5,000 local people with 366 mums and dads regularly engaged, online surveys, Dorset Maternity Voices – a group that meets in a local children’s centre with a crèche and maternity stories.
Working in partnership with local hospitals and public health colleagues this innovative work has already supported improvements to local services.
The new Excellence in Participation Awards celebrate outstanding contributions of organisations across the country who are improving health and care services and putting local people at the very heart of health and care. Winners will be announced on March 3 at the Health Innovation EXPO 2014.
