THERE is still time to get involved in a fundraising motorcade event for Dorset renal patients.

The Kidney Fundraising Convoy (KFC) on Saturday, March 29 will see cars and motorbikes ride from East Undercliff Drive in Bournemouth to the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton to raise money for the renal unit at Dorset County Hospital.

There will also be a chance to visit the museum at a discounted price.

Event creator Spencer Furley said ‘I wanted to create an event to combine an interest of mine, namely motorbiking, with doing something to enable people of all generations to enjoy the experience. I selected the renal unit at Dorset County Hospital as the beneficial charity as I have personal experience of the unit, and understand the challenges facing the service, the patients and the staff. “Our aim is to raise funds for a sonic machine, which finds the vein more easily when inserting needles into dialysis patients.”

Anyone interested in taking part has until the end of the week to sign up.

For more details email phoenixeventing@gmail.com or visit the Kidney Fundraising Convoy Facebook page.

Application forms are also available on the Dorset County Hospital website at dchft.nhs.
