THE news will be hot off the press at Brewery Square with the opening of a newsagent.
Moorland News Express opened its doors for the first time on Copper Street yesterday.
Owner Ruban Sathia said he was ‘delighted’ to be part of the growing development.
He added: “The location is just superb, and we are directly opposite the train station, as well as Brewery Square.
“I’m amazed at how many people use this railway station, it’s a very busy part of town.”
The store is the 10th newsagents in the Moorland chain, but the first in West Dorset as others are located in Bournemouth, Poole and Hampshire.
As well as bringing commuters and residents the local news – including the Dorset Echo – the shop sells groceries and has a free to use cash machine.
Mr Sathia added: “I think that it will be the first one in this part of Dorchester so that will make it easier for residents.”
