A SUPPORT course for people affected by a long-term health condition has been launched in Dorset.
The free ‘My Health, My Way’ NHS six-week self-management course is designed to support people to build, maintain and develop their confidence, knowledge and skills to deal with the day to day problems of living with a long-term health condition.
The service has been commissioned for three years by the Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group (DCCG).
Dorset residents with a health condition who are registered with a GP in Dorset can access the service.
Courses are run by health coaches and cover issues such as dealing with fatigue, low mood, pain, exercise, dietary changes, communication and support.
They will be held at the Weymouth Community Fire Station every Monday from June 2 until July 7 – and will run from 2pm to 4.30pm.
