COMMUTERS are facing delays on trains out of Weymouth due to an electrical fault.

A rail replacement  service has been arranged in both directions.

No trains until further notice? Delays of up to 20 minutes, National Rail Enquiries says. Dorset Echo over-dramatising again?

Yes of course, but it doesn't mean they are just hanging around in wareham on the off chance the electric power supply fails. Get a grip for goodness sake.

They have signs up in Upwey station offering a bus replacement towards B'mouth but are not allowing bikes, buggies or bulky items on the busses! Might be worth checking before traveling?

I think possibly the Echo is getting confused with the engineering work this weekend, when buses do indeed replace Trains between Weymouth & Bournemouth, which is probably what the notices refer to.

It's nothing to do with the engineering, the echo has it spot on. I finished work at 4.30 a 3 min walk from the wareham station. The signs, and live update rail services said there was a 20-30 min delay, when the train turned up it suddenly changed to terminates here, and about 50-70 people then got off the train.

The conductor, and driver had been told very minimal info, and the poor single member of staff at the station wasn't even informed of the information. It was a shambles to be honest. When we were told what was happening we were told that there no trains between Wareham and Weymouth full stop, until further notice, so again the echo is reporting correctly.

I was annoyed by the shambles of organisation for replacement services, and lack of information, but these things do happen, sadly more often than they should on our rail, and bus companies.

I was more concerned by all the commuters in suits pushing people out the way to get in the few taxis at the station which were being paid for by national rail, when there was a lady in a wheel chair, and two mums with buggies, who in my eyes should have been prioritised first!
