MOTORISTS are being urged to remove all their valuables from unattended vehicles.
It comes after thieves stole a jumper, reading glasses and a pair of sunglasses from a parked car in West Dorset.
A black Renault Megane was broken into near to the A3066 at Melplash some time between 6.30pm on Wednesday and 7.45am the following morning.
The offender smashed the front window of the vehicle. A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “Beat the vehicle thieves by staying safe and secure. It is vital that whenever you park your vehicle and leave it unattended that you must remove all valuable items whenever possible.
“In fact remove all items as even everyday items such as glasses and clothing have been targeted over the past week.
“If you see anyone behaving in way that concerns you, call us on 101.
“If you believe they have committed a crime or are about to do so, then call 999 immediately.”
