DETAILED work to re-shape adult social care in the Bridport area is now underway.
Dorset County Council’s Cabinet has given the go-ahead to develop proposals for the creation of a new community ‘hub’ and replace the Sidney Gale residential home with a more flexible residential service.
The council has pledged to invest £4.7m into services for older people and vulnerable adults in the Bridport area and, over the winter, asked local people for their views on how the money should be spent.
The review will cover not only Bridport but surrounding towns and villages.
Cllr Darryl Turner said: “There was a well-planned series of events across the area, which has given us a consensus on the way forward.”
