Island Community Action, based in Easton, Portland, provides a range of activities and initiatives to help older people on the isle.
They provide befriending services, including companionship, help with local errands, personal correspondence, and help with small DIY tasks.
They also provide a friendly listening ear with a phone call or chat over a cup of tea.
Counselling sessions are also available and all volunteers are police and reference checked, interviewed and insured.
ICA can help people out with small jobs in the garden too, helping to cut the grass, weeding and landscaping, or help with dog walking.
