CARERS will be putting their best foot forward on a charity walk.
Staff from Leah House residential home in Wyke Regis will be lacing up their walking boots to take on a 6.45mile walk this Saturday (3) for Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.
Starting at the care home at 11am the ten walkers will be heading down the Rodwell Trail, across the Causeway to the Cove House Inn on Portland. They will then be walking back to the home.
The walk will be in memory of Colin Carey, who was the husband of staff member June Carey.
Manager at Leah House, which is part of the Abbeyfield Weymouth Society, Julia White said: “We thought about a sponsored walk in memory of Colin and asked June who she would like to donate to. Weldmar were her chosen charity because they have been so good to her and her family.”
The walkers are hoping to raise as much money as possible and are hoping people will show their support while they are on the walk.
They will be wearing t-shirt and carrying balloons and are hoping drivers will honk their car horns in support when they are walking along the Causeway.
