TAKE on the challenge of trekking three countries in three days for Weldmar Hospicecare.
The Dorchester-based charity is building on the success of previous charity challenges in the Sahara and this year’s Iceland event and is looking for volunteers to join them for next year’s event trekking the Alps.
All funds raised by the event will go to help the charity continue its work in Dorset – the charity needs to raise around £5 million a year to keep it running.
After listening to feedback from supporters, Weldmar decided to move the challenge from October to August and go somewhere not too hot and not too cold.
Covering France, Italy and Switzerland, adventurous fundraisers will spend three days trekking the Alps on Mont Blanc.
Surrounded by incredible scenery the trek promises to be an amazing challenge and a lot of fun, said Weldmar events and challenges fundraiser Matt Smith.
He said: “We will be walking for eight hours a day.
“It will be tough but at the same time the views will be amazing. Walking through the scenic mountains will be a great experience for anyone that takes part.”
With temperatures reaching 20-25 degrees during the day, it won’t be too extreme and the group will be staying in mountain huts.
There are only 30 places available for the trek between August 5-9 2015.
