PORTLAND Rocks, Portland’s community youth music project for eight to 18 year olds, has expanded into arts and crafts.
The project, using recycled and found objects to make arts and crafts, started off in early February, making mobile phone covers from recycled felt and a guitar plectrum collage made from shampoo bottles.
The idea behind the project is to offer a new strand, as well as the music sessions, and to promote the possibilities of recycling. All young people are invited to come along and try arts and crafts alongside the youth music project aimed at 10 to 18-year-olds.
Come along to The Islanders Club in East Weare Road, Portland on Mondays during term time between 5.30pm and 7.30pm, costing £3 per week and the first session is free.
