THE DORSET Lupus Group has welcomed the arrival of a Lupus Specialist Nurse in the county.
Carol Brumpton will be working with rheumatology and rehabilitation consultant Dr Neil Hopkinson and his team and will be based at the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals. Her position is being funded by the national charity Lupus UK.
The Dorset Lupus Group raised funds for the charity and offers support to Lupus sufferers in the county.
At the group’s annual general meeting director of Lupus UK Chris Maker welcomed Carol’s appointment and said Lupus specialist nurses ‘have proved to be a particularly successful way of directly helping support Lupus patients’.
Members of the Dorset Lupus Group are delighted that Lupus UK has funded the post.
Chair Debbie Steel said: “It is nice to see some of the money we have raised is now being used to help Dorset sufferers.”
Anyone affected by Lupus, either as a patient or carer, can find more information online at dorsetlupus.com or contact Debbie on 01202 877390.
