Man and woman hunted after an assault on the Rodwell Trail

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was knocked off her bike and kicked on the Rodwell Trail.
Officers are hunting a man and a woman following the incident which took place at about 1.30pm on Friday May 30, near the bridge over Sudan Road.
Dorset Police said the victim was a 28-year-old woman, who was cycling toward Wyke Regis from Weymouth when a man, who was walking with a woman, shouted abuse and punched her hard on the arm as she passed them. This caused the victim to crash and fall off her bike. The offender then kicked her in the back. The rider sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.
The man and woman are described as white, in their fifties and both have short hair. PC Adam Bayliss from Weymouth police, said: “This incident left the victim very shocked.
“As it took place in broad daylight there may have been people around who saw what happened.
“I am appealing for anyone, who saw the incident or who saw a man and woman walking on the Rodwell Trail near the bridge over Sudan Road at about 1.30pm on Friday May 30, to come forward.”
