Emergency services were called to help a paraglider in difficulty on cliffs near Weymouth.
The incident took place at around midday and although he was not hurt, the paraglider was unable to free himself safely.
He had crashed into cliffs near Ringstead, approximately 80 to 100 metres below the clifftop.
Fire crews from Dorchester and Weymouth attended with two technical and rope rescue crews from Weymouth and Poole.
Ambulance, Police and the coastguards also attended.
