A DORSET community is back on the map after a unique signpost got a fresh look.
The first ‘fingerpost’ in Ansty has been brought back to its original glory thanks to financial help from local businesses and Dorset County Council’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty team in Dorchester.
The work on the Higher Ansty sign was carried out on behalf of Hilton parish council by volunteers from the village, Ian Bryan, Terry Mears and Hugh Joseph, who have a further four more to do.
Cllr Steve Sanders, leading the project for the parish council, said the signs are unique to Dorset but financial constraints mean that DCC can no longer maintain them.
