Variable message signs around Weymouth are having a concrete plinth added to help keep the signs in good condition.
The illuminated signs give drivers information about car parking spaces and the status of the park and ride.
Four signs will have a hard standing added at their base to allow maintenance vehicles to park close to the sign, but off the road.
The work will take about a week for each sign, finishing the first week in July.
The locations affected will be Swannery car park, Weymouth Relief Road between the Ridgeway and Jurassic roundabout, Weymouth Relief Road at Two Mile Coppice and Weymouth Way between the Manor roundabout and Chafey’s roundabout.
Any work that affects traffic flow will take place between 9am and 4pm to avoid peak times.
