FAMILY events are being held at Hengistbury Head Visitor Centre during August for people to find out more about wildlife.
The RSPB is inviting people to discover more about Amazing Amphibians in the area’s pond on Tuesday, August 12 from 11am to 3pm.
On Wednesday, August 13 from 11am to 3pm, make a butterfly feeder to help butterflies in your garden, then follow the rangers on a guided walk to find the real thing on the reserve.
On Thursday, August 14 from 11am to 3pm, pick up a dragonfly tick list and see how many you can spot in a day.
On Friday, August 15, find out how you can ‘give nature a home’ in your garden in 10 easy steps. Get started with a recycled plant pot to grow bee-friendly flowers. It costs £1 per pot.
On Wednesday, August 20, enjoy pond dipping at Hengistbury Head Visitor Centre from 10.30am to 11.30am,12pm to 1pm, 2pm to 3pm and 3.30pm and 4.30pm. It costs £4 per child.
Booking is not required for any session with the exception of pond dipping. All activities are free. Call 01202 420909.
