AN elderly man has been taken to hospital following a collision in Weymouth.

The incident happened at around 5.30pm this evening in Radipole Park Drive.

The road has been closed close to the Grassmere Road junction and motorists should find alternative routes.

It is understood the 77-year-old man was in collision with a Ford Fiesta.

He sustained minor injuries and has been taken to Dorset County Hospital.

The vehicle sustained minor damage and the driver was unharmed.

The road is expected to re-open shortly.
