THE sun shone as St Edmund's Church in Weymouth held its much anticipated Rose Garden Party.
Special guest wartime veterans’ ambassador Poppy Butcher opened the event by crowning the Rose Queen Alice Butcher, supported by her two attendants Grace Norris and Sophie Butcher. All those that attended paused to remember those involved in the First World War and the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings. A record £1,900 was raised for various charities.
