Youngsters between the ages of seven to 16 are being invited to come along with their parents and enjoy the sessions, which have been organised by West Dorset District Council thanks to a grant of £1,800 from Rounders England.

The first event is on Thursday, July 24 at St Osmunds Community Sports Centre from 11am to 12noon and further sessions will be held at the venue on Tuesday, July 29 from 1.30pm, Friday, August 1 from 1.30pm and Monday, August 4 from 2pm.

A session will be held at Dorchester Sports Centre on Friday, August 15 from 11.30am and then it’s back to St Osmunds for sessions on Friday, August 22 from 2pm, Wednesday, August 27 from 2pm and Friday, August 29 from 11am.

Each session costs £2 per child or youngsters can be booked into all eight sessions in advance for £10.

Parents and carers are required to stay at the sessions and can play for free.

West Dorset District Council Leader Cllr Robert Gould said: “We would like to thank Rounders England for the grant so we can provide rounders in the district.

“The district council always tries to find new and exciting ways to promote healthy living in West Dorset.”
