THE St Alban’s Head station of the National Coastwatch Institution (NCI) will open to members of the public next month.
Located on the coastal path at Worth Matravers, the lookout will open from 10am to 5pm on August 23, 24 and 25.
A spokesman explained: “Visitors will be able to find out about the work of the volunteers who help keep the sea and coast path safe for all users and to inspect the equipment used.
“Hot drinks and homemade cakes and biscuits will be on offer. Everything is free, although donations will be welcomed.”
The NCI supports the coastguard by keeping a watch along UK shores. There are four Dorset stations: St Alban’s Head, Peveril Point (Swanage), Portland Bill and Lyme Bay.
