A WEST Country accountancy firm with an office in Dorchester has shared the wealth with staff after a year of record growth.

Old Mill has paid out £600,000 in staff bonuses following a year that saw the business grow by 14.2 per cent, taking its total income to £16.2million.

The company employs 270 people in its offices in Dorchester, Exeter, Melksham, Wells and Yeovil and advises almost 3,000 businesses.

Board member Simon Cole said: “Old Mill’s turnover has grown by at least ten per cent a year since 2007 and our performance in 2014 continued this positive trend, thanks to a healthy mix of new clients and providing extra value added work to existing clients.”

Mr Cole said Old Mill has always sought to share its success with staff, as this year’s bonus pay out shows.

He said: “In return for their hard work, staff received on average around ten per cent of their salary.

“In addition to these bonuses, Old Mill’s strong performance will allow for continued investment in the business and in particular for further investment in staff training and development.

“Staff development has always has been very important to us as a business to ensure our staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to look after our clients and we are delighted that so many obtained professional qualifications over the last year with a number winning exam prizes in the process.”
