A TRACTOR, cut hay and hedgerow were involved in a fire near Bere Regis.

Dorset Fire and Rescue Service urged motorists to drive carefully as the smoke from the blaze was blowing across the A35.

The incident took place between Dorchester and Bere Regis.

Two Dorchester crews tackled the blaze and  requested assistance from the Bere Regis Land Rover.

The fire was extinguished by 12.10pm and it is believed that no one was injured in the incident.

The cause of the fire was overheating in the engine and the tractor was destroyed.

Approximately half a hectre of hay and 30m of hedgerow was also destroyed.
