ROLL UP, ROLL UP! The Moscow State Circus is back in Weymouth for the first time in four years.

The spectacular show is in town for a few days only, until Tuesday and tells the tale of the famous Park Gorkogo, otherwise known as Gorky Park.

The circus has rolled into Lodmoor Country Park in Weymouth as part of its two year tour around the UK, which finishes in November this year.

Tour Director Paul Archer was glad to return to Weymouth, after they missed the town out in 2012 because of the Olympics.

He said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be back in Weymouth this year.

“We love Weymouth. It’s a wonderful town to visit. We get great support from the people here and because we don’t get private funding the support is very important.”

“Our first night completely sold out, we do keep a limited number of seats available for tickets bought on the night but we do advise booking as early as possible for the best seats.”

The acts within the show are professionally trained in Moscow for at least four years before they are able to tour with The Moscow State Circus.

Guests can expect to see these amazingly talented performers in acts including the vertical pole juggling, hand balancing, flying trapeze, the aerial bathing beauties plus a family of daredevil roller skaters performing on an elevated platform with a diameter of only 1m 17.

The circus’ last stop was in Bournemouth and the artists have enjoyed visiting the Dorset coast.

Vlad Khvostik, 21, performs as a hand balancer and has been in the circus his whole life.

He said: “It’s been brilliant touring around the UK. Scotland was beautiful but the water is a lot warmer down here!”

“We’ve been really lucky with the weather while we’ve been here and have been able to go to the beach and swim on our days off.”

Ksusha Veslovskaya is an aerial acrobat within the Bathing Beauties performance.

She said: “I have been to Weymouth before when I was little so it’s really nice to be back, I still remember a lot of the places!

“We get a couple of hours off during the day so I think we will probably spend most of the time on the beach but I would like to go to the Sea Life Centre as well.”

The show lasts two hours and there is an afternoon and evening performance every day.
