POLICE are investigating a spate of vehicle thefts in and around Bridport.
Inspector Mike Darby said that the incidents overnight on Tuesday, August 12 are being linked and anyone with information is urged to get in touch by calling police on 101.
Five vehicles were damaged or broken into in Bridport, Salwayash, Beaminster and Powerstock and a number of power tools were stolen from two of the vehicles.
Police are conducting forensic examinations and carrying out house to house enquiries to find the offenders.
Car owners are now being warned not to leave valuable items in their vehicles.
Insp Darby said: “Had the vehicles been empty of valuable items then the owners wouldn’t have been impacted so much by the crime, and indeed the crime may not have actually occurred in the first place.”
