A WAREHAM teenager’s curly locks have been shaved off to raise money for cancer charity CLIC Sargent.
Harry Daniels, aged 14, from The Purbeck School, was growing his hair following a dare from his PE teacher – but when his friend’s sister was diagnosed with cancer, he decided to have it cut off as part of CLIC Sargent’s ‘Big Buzz’ campaign.
Harry’s mum Anna said: “We, as his family, are immensely proud of him for what he had done as there are not many 14-year-olds who would do what Harry has done.
“He is one in a million.”
Sixty classmates and teachers paid a small donation to watch Harry’s head being shaved, which raised around £400 for the charity.
CLIC Sargent’s Dorset fundraising manager Farah Batchelor said: “Harry is amazing. What a great way to support a friend and raise money.
“On behalf of the charity I would like to thank Harry, his family and all the friends, pupils and staff of The Purbeck School who have supported us.”
