ORGANISERS of a school music and arts festival say it has been a huge success.

The All Saints School in Wyke Regis held a Music and Arts festival to raise money for school funds.

The Friends of All Saints School Association (FASSA) organised the event with the help of students and staff at the school.

Organiser Amanda Dunning said: “It went fantastically well. It was very well supported by the public and has really helped to put All Saints on the map again.”

The event had hundreds of visitors and took more than £5,000 on the day.

Ms Dunning said: “People said they didn’t realise just how big it was going to be and those who came said they want to it to be on again next year.”

The festival had indoor and outdoor stages with a variety of acts and events, including live singers, bands and fashion shows.

The event was sponsored by several local businesses, and Ms Dunning said the event helped to rally the community.

She said: “The community has really backed this and it seems to have helped bring us together. People came from far and wide though, it wasn’t just Wyke residents. The response has been brilliant.”

She added: “I think we will definitely be thinking of doing something similar again in the future.”

There was also a prize draw, with £225 donated by local businesses Tina Purnell Estate Agents, Wyke Smugglers and Dunnings Automatic LTD.
