SKATEBOARD tricks and treats will be the order of the day at a Halloween Jam at The Front skate park in Weymouth on Saturday, October 25.

Sadie Osborne and Rosie Flaherty have organised the day of entertainment in a bid to bring extreme sport and a spectacle of spookiness together.

The Front, on Preston Beach Road, will be specially decked out for the occasion with special treats for exceptional tricks.

The Halloween Jam will take place between 12pm and 6pm and will feature mini jams throughout the day for skateboards, BMXs, inlines and scooters.

There will also be a ‘bring your own carved pumpkin’ competition, and Weymouth’s own Boytits will be performing a special acoustic set.

Sadie said: “This is an annual event that we put on, it is a fun community event which brings extreme sports and fun tradition together.

“The Front Skatepark is a registered charity and its outcome is to give individuals a place to come and express themselves through extreme sport. Any money we raise or that is kindly donated goes towards the maintenance of the park and the well-being of its customers.

“We have a fun atmosphere down at the park and we want as many people as possible from Weymouth and the surrounding towns to come down so we can bring the community together.”

People will be able to have a go at apple bobbing, there will be a charity bake sale, a best costume competition and stalls.

There will also be some tie dye sessions where any item can be dyed for £2, with all money going to The Front charity.

The day is made possible thanks to a range of local sponsors, including Animal UK.

The Front skate shop will be open throughout the day and the café will be serving hot and cold drinks and snacks.
