EMPLOYEES of Dorset County Council have been recognised for their hard work and achievements.

Their efforts were celebrated at the council’s annual staff Pride Awards.

The event gave councillors, the Chief Executive and staff from across the council the chance to thank people personally for their commitment, skill and enthusiasm.

Chief Executive Debbie Ward said: “It is wonderful to see staff from across the county celebrating each other’s success.

“These individuals and teams have gone the extra mile to provide excellent services and I would like to congratulate them on their achievements.”

Dorset residents and county council staff were asked to nominate individuals and teams that they felt deserved special recognition for the excellent services they provide.

Nominations were short-listed by a panel of judges including the leader of the council Spencer Flower, Chief Executive Debbie Ward, members of staff and representatives of the public through the Citizens’ Panel.

Shortlisted nominees came from across the diverse range of the county council’s staff, including highways, children’s services, outdoor education, arts development, and a day centre for people with dementia.

Cllr Flower said: “I am extremely proud to see these individuals and teams rewarded for their dedication and hard work.

“We have a strong, dedicated workforce and everyone plays their part in making a difference for people in Dorset.”
