A WOMAN was said to be still in a critical condition in hospital yesterday after collapsing at the wheel of her car.
She suffered a cardiac arrest while driving in Jessopp Avenue, Bridport, on Sunday.
Her car collided with a lamppost around 12.15pm.
Paramedics successfully resuscitated her at the scene before she was taken to Dorset County Hospital.
The woman, aged in her 80s, remains in a critical condition.
Two rapid response cars, two ambulances and the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance attended the scene.
A resident along Jessopp Avenue said they saw the police had blocked off the bottom of the road and the air ambulance dropped into a field alongside the road.
