A REPORT by the Consumer Council for Water (CCWater) shows that Wessex Water had the fewest number of written complaints per customer of all the water and sewerage companies.

The number of complaints Wessex Water received continues to fall and are down by 16 per cent in 2013/14. It is the fourth year that it has come out on top in the CCWater report.

Wessex Water’s director of customer and retail services Andy Pymer said: “This is a fantastic result and testament to all the effort staff are making right across the business.

“We continuously try and go the extra mile for customers and on the few occasions where we don’t get it quite right we take necessary steps to learn from mistakes and ensure it doesn’t happen again.”

Telephone complaints to the water company also fell broadly in line with the results for written complaints.

The report said “Wessex Water continues to be the best performing water and sewerage company” and “continues to set the standard”.

Earlier this year, water industry regulator Ofwat announced that Wessex Water also provided the best customer service for the third year running of all of the water and sewerage companies.
