A WATCHKEEPER at the National Coastwatch Institution (NCI) lookout at St Alban’s Head has raised over £1,000 for the station with the help of his camera.
Gordon MacPherson uses the 300-foot-high headland to photograph the Cowes-Torquay offshore powerboat races that take place every August. He then makes his pictures available to the contestants in return for a contribution to the work of NCI.
Gordon, a keen amateur photographer who is a former chairman of Wareham Camera Club, said: “The boats make spectacular subjects for photographs.”
The NCI supports HM Coastguard by keeping a visual watch along UK shores.
