EMERGENCY services have been alerted to an incident in Chickerell where a car came off the road.
It happened on the B3157 past West Street towards Portesham about 9.45am.
The car left the road and collided with a telegraph pole.
Dorset Police said they received a call this morning about a car colliding with a lamppost.
They said South Western Ambulance Service also attended the scene but it was not clear whether the male occupant of the vehicle had been taken to hospital.
Police officers have now left the scene after directing traffic earlier.
The road remains open, although it may be closed at some point for recovery work.
The telegraph pole has been badly damaged and left leaning towards the road.
The collision happened in the same spot as a crash last October when a car collided with a telegraph pole.
