There are plans to create a cycle route all the way from Bradpole to West Bay, though Cllr Dave Rickard said at the finance and general purposes committee that there had been complaints about the roughness of some of the new cycle routes.

He said: “Can we add a programme of working with the other three agencies to make sure that their bits get done? It would be nice to say that Bridport is a cycle friendly town.”

Town surveyor Daryl Chambers said people should call in their complaints to the town council who could then log them and pass them on to the relevant authority.

He said matters were getting attended quicker than in the past.

He also said discussions were coming up with the Highways Agency about cycle routes.
