A STAFFORDSHIRE Bull Terrier puppy has been found safe and well after previously being reported missing.

Dorset Police announced Tilly as missing yesterday, with an image of a suspected puppy thief released.

However, officers have now confirmed Tilly has been found and safely returned to her owners.

Officers told the Echo that Tilly was found wandering around yesterday by a member of the public, who then called the police.

No arrests have been made, Dorset Police have confirmed.

Tilly was stolen from outside the owner's home in Wyke Road, Weymouth.

It happened at the end of last month but details were only released yesterday.

As part of the appeal, police released a CCTV image of a man walking the stolen dog in Weymouth town centre.

Tilly is six-months-old and has a white face, a distinctive black ear, dark spots on her back and a black patch on her tail.

The offender is described as white, of slim build and was wearing a black woollen hat, a grey hooded top and a dark jacket.

The theft happened at around 8.15am on Thursday, October 30.

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101, quoting crime number C:14:D:45581.
