DIAMOND couple Olive and Alfie Barnes received royal congratulations as they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
The pair, who have lived in the same house in Moreton for six decades of married life, enjoyed the day together before a family celebration at the weekend.
Olive and Alfie are proud parents of three sons and two daughters and have a large extended family, as grandparents to 21 grandchildren and great-grandparents to an astonishing 27 great-grandchildren.
The couple had a celebratory party to mark the milestone, and their son Matthew visited them to join in on the day.
He said they were sent a congratulatory greeting from the Queen, adding they were 'chuffed to receive the greeting'.
Matthew said that the family all wanted to wish them a happy anniversary.
