FRIENDS of a generous 92-year-old Dorset pianist have thanked her for her 10 years of voluntary service to a popular theatre group.
Kathleen Jeeves, from Bere Regis, has been the pianist for the village’s Pop In Performers for ten years but is closing the curtain on her on-stage involvements to accompany The Woodbury Hill Singers performing in Dorset’s care homes.
Her fellow group members bade farewell after their performance of Oliver, gifting her an orchid, and will dedicate their latest performance “Christmas and All That Jazz” to Kathleen as a tribute. Alison Bennett, the group’s team leader said: “We hope the show will pay tribute to this amazing lady, who has been an inspirational figure in the group with her outstanding musical ability.”
