A MAN from Weymouth has denied sexually assaulting a woman during a night out in the town centre.
Stephen Laing, is on trial at Dorchester Crown Court charged with sexually assaulting a woman in an alleyway.
The jury heard Laing met the woman at the Closet nightclub on Maiden Street.
CCTV footage was shown in court of the pair kissing, before they left the club.
Speaking from the witness stand, the alleged victim told the court she had “given consent” to be kissed in the nightclub but she left with Laing to tell him she wasn’t interested in him and they went down a side road into an alleyway.
The woman then alleged Laing pushed her up a wall and started to grope her and performed a sex act on himself. David Lyons, defending, put it to the woman she had consented to the groping and the act and it was actually her who had instigated it, not Laing.
The woman denied this.
The trial continues today.
