IT’S usually Santa who delivers presents at this time of year, but a woman from Dorchester is filling his shoes after finding a lost gift.
Vivienne Hines was driving down Slyers Lane near Piddlehinton when a wrapped present fell out of the car in front. The owner drove off without noticing and Vivienne picked the gift up for safekeeping. She then contacted the Dorset Echo to try to trace the owners.
She said: “It is addressed to a Christine and Melvyn and signed ‘from mum and dad’.
“It’s a real shame that it’s been lost because someone has obviously gone to a lot of trouble to choose it and wrap it, so it would be nice to find who it belongs to. The car was driving towards Dorchester and turned right and as it did so, the present fell out of the back door, which was open.”
Anyone who thinks the present may be theirs can contact Rachel Stretton at the Echo office on 01305 830982 with a description.
