MEMBERS of the Dorset Rural Business Support Group marked their fifth anniversary at their latest meeting.
They celebrated the milestone at a session hosted by founder member Humphries Kirk at its Dorchester office.
The group supports small businesses and comprises business professionals who work in various market sectors, and have experience and a depth of knowledge relevant to the rural business community.
They said that they live and work in the area but also know the people and know what is needed.
The group aims: n to create long-term business relationships n to improve communication and help the rural economy and community n to provide advice and skills to get the job done n to support and improve the chances of survival and success of the rural business community, and in so doing revitalise the community in general.
There are more than 100 small businesses in the group. Their target for 2007 is to increase the membership by a further 100 small businesses.
